From our years of experience developing broadcast-grade systems for use in audience research all over the world, we have perfected the art of audio watermarking using hardware.

We have designed and engineered a range of high-quality, extreme-reliability equipment for installation into the broadcast chain that can insert audio watermarks into the continuous output of radio stations and TV channels.

Our Real Time Encoders (RTEs) can be configured to insert audio watermarks using a variety of schemes and watermarking strategies. For our Heartbeat Engine, the RTE inserts Channel ID and date/time watermarks continuously 24×365.

For live TV shows, our RTEs can be used to insert pre-defined individual Trigger codes into the broadcast at the click of a button in a web interface. This means the show’s directors can decide exactly what content they want their audience to see and exactly when they should see it in second screen apps.

There are many other scenarios, such as TV/radio commercials or live sports events, where one of our RTEs can trigger a call to action for an entire audience to engage with a brand, or vote in response to a poll, or place an instant bet on the outcome of a live football penalty etc.

We supply our RTEs to watermark entire radio stations and TV channels year after year with zero risk of broadcast interruption and with the absolute bare minimum of maintenance. We can also supply RTEs on short lease terms for use at specific events. In either case, we provide complete support and installation services.

RTE Hardware Specification

Each RTE is a 19” rack-mounted appliance that can accommodate up to six separate encoding cards allowing the broadcaster to encode up to six radio stations or TV channels (stereo or Dolby 5.1) with each unit.

The RTE has a chassis or frame that contains a Linux-based encoding card manager system with a secure web interface, dual redundant PSUs and six slots for encoding cards.
